There are still two Frankenstein papers (my least favorite of the lot; I hate that book).
(chapter 2) Comic strip or cartoon analysis 40 pts/500 wds
(chapter 4) Frankenstein Critical Analysis Evaluation Essay 75 pts/750 wds
(chapter 5) Frankenstein Practical Application Essay 75 pts/750 wds
(chapter 6) Interview & Summary 10 pts/350 wds (+ you have to do the actual interview)
(chapter 7) Research Proposal Letter 50 pts/500 wds
(chapter 8) Media Analysis 50 pts/500 wds
(chapter 9) Illustration Essay 100 pts/500 wds
(chapter 10) Classification Essay 100 pts/500 wds
The cartoon analysis requires doing essentially a literary analysis of a cartoon (noting the figurative language, etc. used).
The critical analysis essay asks you to evaluate an analysis of Frankenstein (you have around 10 to choose from).
The application essay asks you to write about how the book addresses a social/ethical issue (there are a handful of topics to choose from).
The interview requires that you interview an expert of 10+ years in a given field, and summarize the interview. This is to be about a particular issue where you see a need for change, because it's used for the next assignment.
The research proposal letter uses the previous interview as a source and calls on a public official or someone of that nature to investigate making a change.
The media analysis is an essay addressing how one element of a media production (lighting, camera use, symbolism, etc.) is used.
The illustration essay offers about a dozen topics to choose from, and you have to use illustrations to cover it. (These are...kind of lame.)
The classification essay provides ten topics, and you choose one about which to differentiate and describe the various "types."
