Ethical caution

Hey Everybody--

It's not very often that we have a polemic, heated debate come up on this forum, but every now and then when one does, I'm generally content to sit it out, as we're all adults here, and on top of that, the moderators have done an amazing job of staying on top of things.

But, as this has turned into such a hot topic, and there's no clear concensus of opinion, I felt that it's time to step in and establish where the forum "officially" stands on this issue.

First, please note that although I rarely participate on the forum, I do try to scan through the new posts once a day and stay updated on what's going on. I believe in a relatively hands-off approach. In general, the direction this forum takes is based on you all (the users), and more importantly the moderators, who I've chosen for their rock-solid integrity and their bend-over-backwards desire to help people. They have a lot of leeway to take the forum in the direction that they see fit.

That being said, I'm going to ask the moderators to refrain from doing any censuring unless it's something that is clearly offensive or spelling out questions on the test. I'm going to leave the real censuring up to the posters--you post what you feel comfortable posting, and if you feel like you gave too much detail, then tone it down.

The Collegeboard and Prometric jealously guard their content; I am aware of this because I've heard from them several times over the years as they purchased subscriptions and went over what we've got with a fine-toothed comb (they never find anything that bothers them). THEY are what guide my policy on this forum--if I think a post could get this site shut down, then it needs to go.

If you think a feedback post is blatantly over-the-line and should be removed, feel free to send ME a message. If you have any comments or concerns for that matter, send me a message--I make it my priority to respond to every message in a timely manner.

One more thing--please show respect for the moderators (and for each other). Lack of respect is one of the few things that can get you banned from this forum.
