From what I've heard from other people, The Odin Project isn't really for pure beginners. It's got a steep learning curve. It's a good resource but maybe shouldn't be the first stop.
do have a look at their website again, they've subdivided the topics now. There's a foundation path that's really meant for noobs, then they let you pick if you wish to do ruby, or JS. i'm not a hardcore supporter of Odin, i actually completed their older curriculum (it's defo not noob friendly. their explanations expect you to know many things b4 hand). but this new one seems good for a total noob.
the good thing about odin is, they take ur feedback into consideration and they always adopt and change their curriculum.
