Sounds like they live under a rock, especially considering how Coronavirus in 2020 forced most classes to be online and things haven't really changed in many places since.
Yeah - everyone should be on board at this point - otherwise it would be beyond ridiculous.
But even before Covid, I'm not sure why you would even tell your employer you were getting an online degree. How would they know? Why would they care? I could go to my local school here and do a fully online degree without anyone being the wiser.
