There's tons of posts on here about the advisors saying a class doesn't meet a requirement or transfers in as something other than it does. Maybe you just had an advisor who knew what they were doing. Many don't. This is the case at many schools. Advisors don't seem to be well trained in all areas. Their goal is to get everyone to pay tuition at their school. Not earn credits elsewhere and transfer them in. Some schools are really snarky about this.
