They do, currently, have ACE credit recommendations, but they also existed long before ACE was ever conceived and they do NOT go on ACE transcripts. They are their own thing. So, no, they do not count as ACE.

I'm going to disagree with this, in spite of the fact that I think the OP is...not being very nice (esp to jsd).

CLEP's are worth college credit BECAUSE of ACE.  So are DSST exams. So are AP exams.  Otherwise, why would they spend the money to get ACE-recommendations in the first place?

Some schools only accept CLEP/DSST/AP because of the ACE-recommendation.  Most follow ACE in how many credits they give for exams.  AP has proven itself over the years, and now most school now accept them outside of ACE (meaning they would take them whether ACE was involved or not); many schools also have CLEP and/or DSST policies specifically, and don't discuss ACE.  But that doesn't mean that ACE didn't play a part in getting them accepted in the first place.

The Big 3 all follow ACE-recommendations for AP, CLEP and DSST with a few exceptions (where they give more credit than ACE recommends).  Many other schools do the same.  They may not mention ACE in their catalogs, but it's probably the reason they take these exams.

I am not the OP. There was an original post that seems like it was taken down and this one was created.

Am not being nice or am I just making sense?
