If so...
Did you apply for FAFSA, TAP and the state full scholarships?
Do you make over 125k?
Do you go full time or part time?
Are/Did you passing all your classes?
If you are disable, did you inform FAFSA, so you remain eligible for max grant amounts for part time attendance?
Since we don't know who you know. That makes your statement uncredible.
News channels? Please post these. I would like to see more.
I did see this one --> https://wnyt.com/education/excelsior-sch...e/5965731/

I have lived in NYS for 45 years. Yup, sure did apply complete my FAFSA. Couldn't get my student loans at UMPI without it.
I personally did not make over $125K.
I attended college full time - well beyond full time actually
I graduated with a 4.00 so yeah I passed every course.
All disabilities aren't included.
FYI the Excelsior scholarship has numerous limitations including how long you're out of high school and how many semesters you complete. There's this little nugget that would exclude most everyone on this forum from the scholarship:"
- if attended college prior to the 2021-22 academic year, have earned at least 30 credits each year (successively), applicable toward his or her degree program prior to applying for an Excelsior Scholarship;
https://www.hesc.ny.gov/pay-for-college/...rship.html
This means I would have needed to earn at least 30 credits every single year since 1993.
Your link to WNYT does NOT include any stats about how many were eligible and how many received the scholarship.
The scholarship only covers tuition not the fees, books, etc.

Almost 70% of applicants were denied the scholarship:
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/report...2018-08-16
Half were denied the first year of the scholarship:
https://www.syracuse.com/news/2019/08/ex...-year.html
Only 335 CUNY community college students received the scholarship:
https://www.diverseeducation.com/student...e-students
Only 28,000 students received the scholarship last year:
https://buffalonews.com/news/state-and-r...2a071.html
The scholarship was supposed to help 940,000 students which is way off from 28,000:
Cuomo’s office predicted that 940,000 New York families with college-age children would qualify—but the program’s terms and conditions ensured it would yield a much smaller number of actual scholarship recipients.
