I was thinking about Parkersburg over Pierpont but the negative is that (1) it does require one course which costs money and time and (2) it doesn't offer an area of emphasis.
I guess I need a bit of a more compelling reason to choose WVU. Reputation would help.
An AAS degree is not something I would worry about "reputation" for. It's a 2-year degree. Nobody will care about the reputation.
"Oh, a state school? Must be okay." Checks box.
Don't sleep on the power of branding.
Obviously this will depend on the degree. An AAS? NOBODY CARES! The schools with a "brand" don't generally offer an associates degree in the first place, so you can't even compare.
A top school for a Bachelor's degree in a specific field. Maybe. Depends on the field. A top school for a master's degree. That's probably worth spending more on.
