A couple other resources that might help her, no matter which direction she ends up going:
https://www.khanacademy.org/ - 100% free; I think ALEKS is better, but Khan Academy can be helpful to some students.
https://brilliant.org/ - $9.99/mo (normally $12.99/mo), billed annually. Discount codes available. But it looks like you can access at least some lessons without entering a CC#. Sign up, then when it asks you to enter CC information... don't. Just exit out of the page and go back to the brilliant.org homepage.

As already stated, it's $25 for each attempt. Then $400 per class to transcript. This is a huge discount over what it used to be. When the classes were on edX, it was $49 to take the class for credit + a $600 transcription fee!
