Trying to speedrun some SDC classes: Eng 2, Comp. Arch, Soft. Eng, Python 101

I should have quoted you in my last message because it didn't give you a notification, but it's because it's a guaranteed transfer to TESU. Study.com isn't the cheapest, but it's easy to use and understand. Saylor in comparison looks dated and seems buggy. It'll randomly log me out. The information on the python class is also far less interesting and feels dated. I'm using a 30% for 3 months discount for SDC so it's only $170 a month or so.

I'd like to give a status update:

On ENG 205 with SDC, I have completed 100% of the quizzes. I made a 90/100, so that's 9 points. I have submitted the first 3 assignments already as well. I have the 4th completed, and the 5th is an easy business proposal. The last is a recorded speech with a visual presentation over the same topic. Once the first 3 are completed, it is easy to steamroll the next 3 assignments since the bulk of the work is done.

One issue is the length of assignment 4. It has to be over 2000 words. The rough draft is only 1250 I think. I decided to approach it from 3 different angles and basically rewrite the rough draft 3 times then combine them. That way it will increase the overall length above the 2000 word limit.

The business proposal will be extremely easy. Just follow an outline and fill in information from the research essay, using it as the basis for your proposal.

The presentation is just a condensed version of the essay, so I'm making an outline with key talking points and making a Powerpoint. I've already taken Public Speaking at TESU, so this is basically the exact same thing as that class had me do.

This class is very similar to Information Literacy Today as well.

I am waiting for feedback on the first 3 assignments before submitting assignment 4. I have it finished already but am supposed to wait for feedback before writing it.

I am now working on Software Engineering and have 10% of the quizzes done. This is stuff I've covered before. It's simple stuff like the software development life cycle and different project management models. I've covered this in other classes.

Like with ENG 205, I'm skipping right to the quizzes and just pounding them out instead of reading through all of the material. If I fail I go back and skim over the chapter or watch the video then retake and pass. Easy peasy.

I know Python is going to be super simple since it's a 101 class, but it's one I'm saving back because I'm interested in it and want to actually take my time studying so I can code in a new language. I'm used to doing mostly web stuff with javascript and want a more universal language, so I'm planning on switching to Python for my future software development.

Computer Architecture I haven't touched yet. I think I checked out the assignments and read a Reddit post about it, but that's really it. It's not one I'm really concerned about because I might be pushing my graduation date back due to an incident that happened recently.

Instead of taking my final 3 in August, I might take 2 because I won't have to pay out of pocket. I only get about $5200 from my employer per year and have almost exactly $2000 left. I may take computer architecture and data structures, then wait until January and take AI and the liberal arts capstone so I don't have to pay out of pocket.

This pushes my graduation date to June, though, but it will all be done and I won't have to worry about it. It also won't cost anything but the $300 audit fee. It pushes my grad school plans back a whole 6 months, though. My alternative is to rush these 4 and do 3 in August, then come up with $1500 to pay them before December. It's doable but I'll be putting in OT on top of doing 3 quarter time in classes. I'll get a December graduation, though.

I had my motorcycle stolen a few days ago so now I'm having to restructure my finances to save up for another vehicle. I live in a highly urban area with a relatively high crime rate. I might be moving into an Air BnB for the rest of the year just to save on expenses and get out of this area. It's closer to work so I could walk to work if I absolutely needed to.

I don't believe Study.com's Software Engineering course will fulfill the requirements for the Liberal Arts CS concentration, as that specific course is recognized as LL CIS-251 at TESU. To confirm this, I suggest sending an email to TESU advising.

If you plan to graduate in December, make sure to complete all your Study.com/Alt credit courses, transfer them, and have them reviewed by November 1st.
