So letting this new ENEB/UI1 option sit, I still am so not a fan personally of the testing option. However, I do think there are some parallels with other university programs in the states where CLEP testing, other "lived experience" type credits are allowed, etc., however I have not looked heavily into comps with US schools and ENEB-type testing.
I was able for the Project Management degree to get two courses "Convalidada" with a prior professional certification I had rec'd (not a PMP). I probably could have gotten some other courses "convalidada" in other programs with other professional development and certifications I earned, but I didn't pursue because I, as I have shared before, enjoyed learning about these subjects. My husband, on the other hand, had a ton of certifications and programmatic experience that could yield college credit recognized by a number of Universities in the United States, which, he did turn his learning transcripts, certifications, proof of colleges willing to accept the courses/certifications for US college credit - Master's Level - and other supporting documents into ENEB. And, it took some back and forth correspondence with ENEB to get what we both were asking for.
Yet, not knowing what the testing looks like, and, the fact that my spouse and I have completed our studies with ENEB the "classic" way, before testing was an option, I am going to reserve judgement and wish those going this route best of luck...because at the end of the day my life doesn't run differently one way or the other with this option now being offered by ENEB. For all intents and purposes, I guess it's a lot like being "grandfathered" in, or when people make the designation of Pre-COVID or Post-COVID. Would I advise my kids or another young person I cared about to go this route and earn a Masters with a test option like this? No. But, where I am currently in my life and career it's not going to impact me, and it's not like I have a warm and fuzzy long-lasting desire to be one with my ENEB/UI1 alma mater.
I think I am still more put off with ENEB offering their American link to "accreditation" with MCA.
