Programming: Sophia or Study.com (Study.com recommended)
Calculus: Sophia
Discrete Math: Study.com
Operating Systems: Study.com
Computer Architecture: Study.com
I would not take the Network Technology TECEP. You don't need it, especially if CIS-3999 gets moved to your AOS. Network Technology is an extremely difficult exam with a very low pass rate. Instead, to fill out your UL credits, go with:
Computer Science 306: Computer Architecture at Study.com
Existing CIS-3999 if possible or Saylor's Software Engineering
Computer Science 302: Systems Analysis & Design at Study.com
Computer Science 303: Database Management at Study.com
Business 303: Management Information Systems at Study.com
Do not take any TESU classes except for LIB-4950 Liberal Arts Capstone. The classes are not especially easy and it's not really worth it.![]()
(cuz I want to apply for a traditional CS master's program in Europe/USA later and My GPA is very low, just 2.8(from my 1st bachelor's degree))
I have one concern, I thought RA credits and a better GPA would be more recognizable, but is it worth getting RA credits(from other recommended provider) instead of using Study.com?
I am worried that some graduate schools didn't recognize these ACE credits. (I might apply for a cheaper or normal graduate school, like some state universities), So would this be a concern? Should I worry about this?
I didn't find any related threads about this question, so could you give me some advice, Thanks!!!
If you have a low GPA, then the LAST thing you should be doing is taking the toughest courses possible at TESU.
Calculus is tough for most people, and taking that course by itself would be a challenge, let alone adding more courses on top of that. Easiest place to take calculus is at Sophia.
I would suggest cherry-picking the easiest courses to take at TESU during a flat-rate term to get the highest GPA possible:
LIB-4950 Liberal Arts Capstone (no exams for the course though has other exams that you don't need to study for)
CIS-3510 Software Engineering (no exams)
CIS-3110 Database Management (no exams)
CIS-3200 System Analysis and Design I (no exams)
Find one more course.

Keep in mind you can ask for a 8-week extension in a TESU course if you need to.
So your 18cr AOS electives would be:
Software Engineering (UL) TESU
Database Management (UL) TESU
System Analysis and Design (UL) TESU
Management of Information Systems (UL) Study.com
Introduction to Information Technology Sophia
Introduction to Networking Sophia
Then also take:
Sophia
Introduction to Programming in Java
Calculus I
Study.com
Operating Systs
Discrete Math
Cmp Architecture (UL)
Instead of doing the flat-rate term, you could pay for the Capstone, then pay the residency fee. It's about the same cost either way.
Thanks!!!!
My advisor told me, that the only course I could take at Sophia to complete the required course in my degree is Calculus I.
She said I can't study Intro to Java at Sophia.
All the computer science courses should be finished at study.com.
What she said was a bit different from what you said, which made me more confused...
Maybe TESU changed the policy?
