Simplified GEC requirements

Some notes:

1. Workplace communications has 2 touchstones, not 1. If you don't like speeches and want the fastest course possible, then Study.com Communications 120: Presentation Skills in the Workplace is the way to go.

2. Visual Communication I did see in this thread that this is accepted now for 2D. Definitely way faster than other options. 

3. You don't have to take both Ancient Greek Philosophers and Ethics. Ancient Greek Philosophers has the touchstone, which makes it slower than ethics.

I do agree Ancient Greek Philosophers will help you understand Ethics and considering you have room in your electives section, then taking both is ok.

Overall

We do quite a bit of hand-holding on DF. Students might not appreciate how much time can be saved by taking a quicker path until they experience the slow path.

I took workplace communications in July, and it had no speeches.  It had 1 touchstone having to do with writing an internal memo addressing a situation with 2 different teams.

You do have to record an informative speech video, and then the 2nd Touch is a 2 part email to a client, and internal comms to the team.

This is not meant for students with significant prior credit. This is only meant for students who have no credit (or maybe 2-3 classes at most) and who just want to be told which Sophia classes to take to meet GEC minimums.

Just wanted to say thank you and that this was very helpful!  Human Bio Lab has 2 Touchstones.  I would highly recommend for Eng. 1 & 2 at Sophia that people prepare all of their papers while knocking out other classes.  The best strategy I've found for firing through classes is to do ALL of the challenges first, then go back through and do all of the milestones, and then submit all of the papers/videos/outlines you can, preferably drafts first.  It's really helped me to stay on top of the grading timeframes, and then once submitted I just chat support at Sophia and ask them to open more classes while touchstones are graded.  I've never had an issue, and I've asked them about 7 times now.  Over this weekend the person I had even offered to open two!  Hope this helps others!
