Yeah, I would give them a go with a VPN, app number, and a US address. If you get in great, there are many programs available, if not, nothing is lost... I keep getting 10%, 15%, 20% on my next sign up for a program on EDX (these include the Microbachelors, etc), for those I just apply/ask for a scholarship that gives 90% off instead.
