These guys never really tried their utmost best to reign in Fannie and Freddie, did you not see the report about how there were republicans actively lobbying against the bill because of the links that they had with thses two companies? If they wanted to push that bill through they could have, the same way they got the Bush tax cuts through.

So, don't believe for one second that they really have that in mind. Fannie and freddie based on reports lobbied a few key republicans to make sure it was not passed.

The democrats are fully aware that if they screw up that they will be voted out in 2 years, so expect some good bills and reform to take place especially in the first 4 years.

Fannie and Freddie fell because of the Democrats especially Barney Frank. John McCain tried to get reform passed and was basically accused of stealing houses out from under deserving Americans. See a couple of quotes below:

These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis, the more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

Barney Frank 2003 in response to Bush administration overhaul plan.

If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.”

Just a few quick thoughts;

Barack has as a campaign advisor a top official of Fannie Mae, an economic advisor!!! Who by the way, made millions and millions from Fannie.

Barack Obama is 3rd highest on the list of recipient of PAC money from Fannie Mae. Barney Frank is number 16. Now they are blaming Republicans. Mr. Obama with his message of change, in bed with Fannie, has the nerve to criticize Bush and McCain who were trying to fix the problem. They didn't want change because reform would mean a slaughter of their cash cow.
