I'm generally a "kumbaya" type of person. I believe in finding ways for people to come together, even in a polarized political climate.

How can we bridge our differences and find unity? Maybe it starts with focusing on the small things we have in common:

Entertainment:

• Sharing fun games
  
• Finding humor in everyday life
  

Shared Values:

• A love for animals
  
• Treating others with kindness and respect
  

Politics:

• We all want honesty and transparency from our leaders
  
• Most of us can agree that nearly all politicians are flawed
  

These simple, everyday joys and values remind us that, deep down, we’re not all that different.
