I can speak from personal experience from the exact same exam(micro). That was the first exam I ever took back in February. Needed a 50 and I got a 49. Was PTC enough? Maybe, but since I joined IC shortly after that, I have passed all 15 or so test I have taken. I do have quite a few PTC study guides that I have used in addition to IC. They did give me a full refund though, no questions asked. I think I had to send them a copy of my failed exam. $20/month for IC is quite the bargain though, comparitively speaking.
