I know these courses have been reviewed before, but since I am currently enrolled Spring 1 2025, I figured I would include my feedback as well. I will use the same format as previous submissions
Course: ORGL 3311 Organizational Leadership
Instructor: Jacob Mills
Course content: Articles, videos, and other links are posted to read.
Class/Exam format: There are 6 sections in the class. 1 pre test and 1 post test per section. Multiple choice answers with some written response usually 2 or 3 short written responses per post test all 1 paragraph or less.
Exam content vs course content/practice exams: The information from the pre and post tests can be found in the linked reading from the course.
Final exam or project: 2 final projects. Video project about your personal views on leadership. Topics are given for you to discuss in video. 2nd project is a personal leadership strategy document that is guided reading with questions to answer about leadership.
Time taken on course: About 24-25 hours
Familiarity with the subject before course: I knew about 70% before.
Pitfalls, high points, things others should know: straightforward course no surprises, easy to follow
1-10 Difficulty level: I would rate this class about a 3, although it is my first class with ETAMU, 6 post tests and 2 projects.
Tips: Make use of the practice exams, many of the same questions will appear on the posttest.
Course: 3321 - Organizational Communication
Instructor: Sherry West
Course Content: Electronic book that is shared in the course electronically. A lot of supplemental articles. This course has a TON of material to read.
Class/Exam Format: There are 3 modules for this class. Each Module has 1 pretest and 1 posttest. 2 tests were multiple choice, 1 had one essay style question with the rest being multiple choice
Exam content vs course content/practice exams: The information from the pre and post tests can be found in the linked reading from the course.
Final exam or project: 1 final project with multiple essay style questions on communication and crafting e-mails, letters, etc.
Time taken on course: 12-15 hours
Familiarity with the subject before course: I knew about 50-60% before. If you work in a professional setting, most of this should be second nature, just need to know the jargon.
Pitfalls, high points, things others should know: straightforward course no surprises, easy to follow
1-10 Difficulty level: I would rate this class about a 4 due to the amount of reading and the length of the tests.
Tips: Make use of the practice exams, many of the same questions will appear on the posttest. Take multiple practice exams. Copy and paste the module chapters into a word doc for easier search function. Use the pre-test as your study guide and find that information in the reading first.
Started both of the courses on 1/13/2025 and just submitted my last assignment tonight 1/20/2025 for 3321. Just have to wait for the grading to be completed to get my next course added.
