My "case" has gone through the office of student records. But knowing that I could do a double major (It's still 2 diplomas in my case, not sure why it is called a double major, I guess it is what it is), then I decided to switch. We'll see how it goes, not gonna argue with you. Maybe you should ask for the most updated UMPI Policy on Dual Degrees and Double Majors.

I downloaded the PDF from my email from my advisor (in effect as of February 7, 2025). At the bottom, it states:
[Explanatory note (not for catalog publication): This allows both the BLS and the BAS to
be declared as the initial major and a subsequent major(s) to be added at a later date;
or the BLS or BAS to serve as a second major. This brings the majors into alignment
with all other programs within the University's curriculum.
Interesting. So they revised the Academic Policy but haven't actually posted anything public facing yet. Good to know. As an aside, you are not currently setup to received a "dual-degree". You will receive a "double major". That is two majors on one degree, just like I did. If you want "two degrees", then you'll have to graduate and be awarded the BAS/BLS or BA Accounting, then come back and pay for another session to get the second. That's delineated in the updated UMPI Academic Policy that you posted as well.
