WARNING ABOUT WEST VIRGINIA RBA PROGRAM
#9

It is a money pit of credit transfer manipulation and blatant dishonesty if you have ACE credits you plan to use toward the degree. It may work out better for those who have more university or community college credit. The RBA (in that regard) is nothing like the Pierpont BOG AAS was. I had zero issues with that. There's a reason they will not evaluate ACE credit until you've completed an entire semester. By the time you realize it's not going to work out for you, they've already made money from the charade.  When the HLC agrees to do a fomal investigation (which they did), something is definitely awry.

As yet another example of contradictions, they claimed they could not evaluate ACE credit. Now the story is that EVERY credit hour on the Pierpont AAS must be transferred, so if you have 67 ACE credit hours on your AAS degree, then really there is no "evaluation" of those.

The story evolves constantly and that is the only thing consistent about the RBA program.

The level of stress and frustration involved for those who have ACE credit far outweighs any eventual benefit of obtaining the degree. I agree with your statement. If you have a lot of ACE credit, any other regionally accredited choice is better than the RBA program. As for me, I'm in so deep at this point that I was told I had only one course remaining. Then I was told I need two, supposedly because of the limit of 90 credit hours of transfer credit. I fully expect that number to continue to increase. After emailing UMPI, I realize I should've earned the degree there with a history minor. There's just no way I m doing another 30 credit hours unless I'm earning a Master's.
