Maybe someone can explain how that works. I mean to get a degree in what and how to get a teaching certificate. My son in law is wanting to teach, but I have been wondering if that can be accomplished through one of the big 3 and clepping exams.
BTW, Congrats! on the job offer. That's fantastic.
You get a degree in basically anything. It would be helpful to get a degree in the subject you (or i guess your son) want(s) to teach.
Most states now have a certification program where you go for a year and then are certified to teach. It's done this way now becuase of a lack of teachers. I'm getting an english degree, and then once I finish that (Next may) I will begin the certification process, which in my state only takes about a year. I'm getting my degree through TESC (one of the big three) I'm CLEPing (or some other form... Dantes, UExcel, TECEPs, etc...) everything except 3 classes. So, yes it can be done. Once you have your degree, no one knows that you CLEPed the majority of it. =)
