Yes. Most schools measure credits in terms of either semester hours or quarter hours. Typically, one quarter hour equates to two-thirds of a semester hour when transferring credits from a school that uses one system to a school that uses the other. The Big Three (Excelsior, Charter Oak, and Thomas Edison) all use semester hours. As a general rule, if a school requires about 120 credits for a bachelor's degree, then it uses semester hours; if a school requires around 190 credits for a bachelor's degree, then it uses quarter hours.
