That's what I did too. Even for those exams that I expected to be "easy", I still made sure I used supplemental resources in addition to IC.
IC alone is good for a basic 'pass' on many exams, but if you want a guaranteed 'A' it is worth doing a bit of extra study.
Wikipedia is awesome for looking stuff up, and you can usually find online study notes that help to solidify what you are learning too.
