Credit for ALEKS Corp (McGraw Hill) Online courses in College Algebra & Statistics

Getting it in writing is not 100% full proof when it comes to TESC as when I found out when I received a response to my ticket. As you can see from the list you should be able to take 2 Stats classes without it duplicating but that's not the case. I've argued this point with 2 of the advisors and Dr. Keel but they wouldn't budge even though they were well aware that I had this in writing. All they could say was they made a mistake. From my experiences and conversations with Advisement thus far it seems like the most important part is getting it on your EVALUATION. FYI I deleted personal information and the advisor's name.


As we dicussed you planned to take ALEKS0003 College Algebra (our MAT-121). If you did not take that course you could do either 0004 or 0005 as I indicated. I'm sorry for the confusion, I did not understand your intention to take all the ALEKS courses through Trig., I thought it was either or.

Ok.. I'm confused as far as what you're saying?

If you're talking about the fact that they have different course numbers, and that fact alone should give you credit for both Business Stats and Intro or SBS, that's not always the case, even at different colleges. Many different colleges that I've seen will say similiar courses duplicate even through they're in different subtypes. (History & PoliSci, English & History, so on & so forth.) They're usually a lot more clear about it and point this fact outright in the catalog (Which can be a huge cluster when transfering in credits to the big 3 from various sources, because from what I've seen, if it has a shadow of similarity, they'll yell duplicate!, no matter how many people before you got full credit.) Did they actually tell you in writing that those credits would not duplicate initially?
