I am sorry to hear of your experience with this rather misguided Sailor. I can assure you that the public perception of Sailors is very important to the Navy. I can also tell you from my time at Great Lakes that these young men get many, many lectures on how to behave in front of the public. This Sailor was obviously 100% in the wrong and eventually that behavior will catch up with him and put a dent in his career.

You were correct to tell him that he was disgracing his uniform with his attitude and actions. Shameful.
