They need both accreditation and a transcript to sway an evaluator. Without either one of those, it would remain worthless. I could see a few progressive evaluators given it a Masters degree equivalency from a regional accredited school if MCA had atleast one of these. That would make MCA become similar to a UCN partnership.(04-14-2021, 09:00 PM)cacoleman1983 Wrote: I haven't been on this forum in a while but this MCA validation is not worth it. ENEB Master Propio has already received a non-accredited ( state-approved) Masters degree equivalent from WES which is good considering these Propio degrees are not official and the certification from Isabel I was likely enough to give it atleast a degree recognition instead of no recognition.
MCA has no recognition above "state-approved" status so you are just paying double the money for a validation paper that will likely not sway a foreign evaluator or school to accept it as an accredited credential. MCA is no good for ENEB and Universidad Isabel I certification is likely enough. Having a university certification from an accredited university has been enough for ENEB to get the positive but varied foreign evaluations. Now if MCA gets some type of recognized accreditation that is national or regional here in the US, this would be worth it.
ENEB's Master Propio has also received a regionally accredited Bachelor's degree equivalence from ECE, and a regionally accredited graduate diploma equivalence from another evaluator.
MCA wouldn't need to become accredited for the degree to be valid, unaccredited and state-approved is enough to be valid. However, the MCA degree within the ENEB partnership wouldn't even get state-approved status treatment because there is no transcript for MCA degrees awarded to ENEB students. Without a transcript, the degree is worthless in the United States because every school (with almost no exceptions) will require a transcript.
Point blank, the deal is pointless for an American. I think ENEB misunderstands the American system. I believe that deal ended on March 31st (according to them) and they need to never do that again. It was a mistake, a harmless one, but still a mistake that shouldn't be repeated.
There still may be an evaluator that equates the ENEB degree to a Masters degree from a regionally accredited school with just the Isabel I certification. With the evaluations we have seen so far, it is possible. So far, the ones we have want to give it less than that either through degree, accreditation, or just evaluating credit hours. All of these are beneficial even with those roadblocks as these are meant for lifelong learning and professional development that fills in the gaps for someone who already has the cake that needs a little icing.
