I got accepted to this program and I'm starting in June. I'm really excited (and nervous) about it. Because of my TESU GPA (3.5) Angelo State gave me the Distinguished Graduate Scholarship ($2000 for the year) which gives me an in-state tuition waiver.
I spent months researching graduate programs. (I overthink EVERYTHING.) I don't think I want to end up an LPC, but Angelo State has an LPC bridge program should I change my mind. Right now my career goal is working in human services, but addictions counseling also interests me, so I might go for that later.
In the Summer Semester, I'm taking Theories of Counseling and Social and Cultural Influences.
Finished Degrees and Certificates:
AAS, BOG (Info Systems)—Pierpont Community and Technical College, December 2023
Certificate, Community Health Worker—Berkeley City College, December 2023
BA, Liberal Studies/Social Sciences—Thomas Edison State University, March 2026
Considering:
Certificate, Substance Abuse and Addiction Studies, Tohono O'Odham Community College, Fall 2026
MA, Liberal Studies/Geropsychology, Thomas Edison State University, Fall 2026
MA, Human Services Counseling, Liberty University, Fall 2026

Gracias!
The scholarship was one of the main factors in my deciding to apply there. I had looked at a couple of other schools, but this particular program really seemed like a good fit for me.
I'm so glad I can do it online, because I certainly have no interest in moving to San Angelo.
The terms are 8 weeks, so it's shorter than TESU, but I think I will be fine. Right now, I work on-call, so I have plenty of free time to go to school.

Story of my life! I waited over a decade before I finally settled on something, but I've also had a convoluted career path that has taken me in many different directions. Regardless, I get it!

Tell us more! Is that bridge program open to non-MA students?

Congratulations on the scholarship! That's awesome. We don't often see scholarships for online grad programs. What a great find!

I ended up not going. I didn't get as much financial aid as I had hoped.
