134 Credits But No Degree! Please Help Me Make Something Useful Out All These Credits

If the OP was open to non technical degree options, they may have already completed (or extremely close) the requirements for a BA in ART at TESU with all those UL Art prefixes. We don't talk about the ART major at TESU here often at all, because it is near impossible to get the UL requirements through low cost or alternative methods. That would put TESU at less than $7k (the two required courses and the residency waiver).

With so many credits, why not try sending all your transcripts to Athabasca and having them evaluate it for a BGS in Arts and Science?

Intriguing! Have you done this before? I looked at their website briefly but the tuition seems pretty high...It looks like a flat rate per program, and I can't find anything about transfer credit reducing that rate

Yes, I'm very open to just about anything. I looked at the Art Major at TESU in the course of looking at CS options. If TESU would be a way to "validate" and put a stamp on my near complete art degree, I would consider that, or even consider that plus cs in the future

I'd recommend you apply to TESU (for the BA in Art) and send in all the credit/school transcripts that you have, see where you stand. The evaluation takes a few weeks. I also still think you should apply ASAP for the Pierpont BOS AAS in Graphics Technology either way. Does it add value, maybe; it certainly doesn't hurt, and for the small fee to graduate you'd have something to show for all you have already done with a technology reference for good measure.

Also, once your credits and evaluation is in TESU's system, you can use the 'what-if' function of the academic advising tool to get a quick rough estimate of where you'd stand in most of their programs. I recommend running a query on any program that at least vaguely seems to align with some of your credits or academic goals.

Thank you so much! I will definitely look through these. One thing I can't figure out is the actual cost of Athabasca. When I looked, it seemed like they charged a pretty steep flat rate cost per program. Does it lower if you transfer in a ton of credits and only need a class or two from them?

The Bachelor of General Studies at Athabasca U. requires 45 upper level (3xx and 4xx) credits.  Our person only has 30.  The beauty of the BGS is it costs almost nothing if you don't have to take any courses.  They only accept Regionally Accredited coursework from the US.

Pierpont is a must as you would immediately (a few months?) have an associates degree without any further courses.

I'm a bit sad that you're not looking for a career, because UI/UX looks like a natural fit for you based on your studies. My thoughts are, if the degree is something you're interested in for the sake of finally graduating, I'll second what others have said. As far as picking up additional skills for the things you're interested in such as web development or working with AI and art - I would recommend just finding some web based courses on those and just learning. As far as business, my single favorite book is the Lean Startup by Eric Ries. You can throw away 80% of what they teach in business school if you're going to be a solopreneur.

Interesting...I'm definitely interested to hear your thoughts on the matter. I've never thought about UI/UX. I guess I just assumed at 40, with little previous career experience, I would be better off working for myself. I've been a stay at home parent most of my working life so my resume is lean.
