28 credits needed for Excelsior Bachelor of Professional Studies Business and Mgt
Here is what i received from the Military preliminary evaluation of my existing transcripts

Thank you for your service and interest in Excelsior College. Please see the results of the preliminary review of your credits and enrollment information below.

Please note, most courses are suggested and there may be other courses to fulfill degree requirements. The full list of Excelsior College courses is available at Excelsior College | Courses

Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) Business and Management - approximately 28 semester credits needed as follows:

3 credits in English Composition - ENG 102 Composition II, ENG 201 Writing for the Professions, or ENG 202 Business Writing
3 credits in math - MAT 116 PreCalculus Algebra or BUS 233 Statistics
6 upper level credits in arts and sciences - CJ 350 International Terrorism, CJ 352 Domestic Terrorism, CJ 450 Counterterrorism, and CJ 456 Bioterrorism, MIL 301 Great Military Leaders, and HIS 335 US Civil War,
3 upper level credits in ethics – BUS 323 or HUM 300
3 credits leadership – BUS 452
3 credits project management – IT 390
3 credits international/global business – BUS 435
3 credit Capstone course – BUS 490 Integrated Business & Mgt. Assessment
1 credit Information Literacy Requirement – INL 102 Information Literacy

From this i am working on a test out plan using any and all the Excelsior accepted tests.
I have been in IT for 25 years - How do i get out of information literacy? can it be done quickly if there is no test out / credit out

Some of the above i know are straight Uexcel exams.... However, if another option is easier that would be my desired path. I am more interested in ease of completion and the fastest path than cost savings (within reason Smile

Now the kicker - I work for the largest employer in Alabama which happens to be a university. My degree plan with them is 2 years traditional class. Not going to happen at 50 years of age. I have been told i cannot advance without a masters. So it is time to get it over with

Please help me in developing the quickest degree plan

I'm not 100% certain of all of the equivalencies at EC, so you may want to check before you take any of these:

English Comp II - UExcel, CLEP College Comp, TECEP, Straighterline

PreCalc - ALEKS, CLEP, UExcel, SL
Statistics - ALEKS, Saylor, DSST, UExcel, TECEP, SL, JumpCourse, TCC, Propero, Sophia.org

Terrorism - CSU-Pueblo IS (add'l UL CJ & History courses)
Civil War - DSST
CSU-Global has some UL CJ courses

Leadership - CSU-Global

Project Management - Sophia.org

International Business - TorCollegeCredits, Penn Foster

Info Lit - TorCollegeCredits, Penn Foster (not sure if they're accepting either of these at this time, I've seen conflicting reports) - I don't think this has anything to do with IT

Are you sure this particular Excelsior degree is the fastest option for you? The Excelsior BS in Liberal Arts (depths in Business and a liberal arts subject) and several TESU and Charter Oak degrees often are easier to complete more quickly. If you list all the credits you already have, we may be able to help you better.

(Sorry for typos, hands not awake yet lol)
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

the liberal arts was what i thought would be the best option but this is what they recommended. I believe it was because my last credit earned was in 1995
I Will list out the credits i have in the morning

I think if you applied at TESU, you would be in a similar state with the BSBA in CIS. You have a lot of the necessary credits, but just need to fill in the blanks.

You could do the Enrolled Options plan for $3300 and take the courses however you wanted. Or you could take 8 TECEP's for $111 each, and it would probably take 3 terms to complete them (you can only sign up for 3 courses per term, so you could do the April, May & June terms). But, almost all of the courses you need are available as TECEP's.

Here's what I show you need to take:
English Comp II (TECEP or other)
College Algebra (TECEP or other)
Statistics (TECEP or other)
Info Lit Requirement - Technical Writing (TECEP or DSST) or World Religions (SL or DSST)
Financial Accounting (TECEP or other)
Managerial Accounting (TECEP or other)
Principles of Finance (possibly fulfilled by Accounting & Finance for Managers, otherwise DSST/PF)
Business in Society (TECEP) or International Business (TCC)
Management Info Systems (DSST)

I'm assuming they will accept your Strategic Management course, but if they won't, that's another TECEP or PF/CSU-Global course to take.

24-30 credits needed.

I replied to your thread in regards to satisfying the Project Management with the Six Sigma Green Belt - Short answer, no.
Anyways, from looking at what you've got to take, my question is - do you have tuition reimbursement from work?
I am asking as there's a chance that you can take two courses and Sophia.org and four courses at Excelsior to take advantage of the 20% discount.

If not, no biggie as you can take ALEKS for the two math courses (College Algebra and Precalculus)
Use Straighterline for Eng Comp II and Info Lit (Intro Religions), this is the fastest/easiest and cheapest.
You can find the two courses at your local university for the UL Arts/Sciences or do DSST/UEXCEL exams.
You can see for the other 3 remaining courses if Penn Foster courses are acceptable, they're $237/course.

I don't think Info Lit can be done at EC using Intro to Religions - it actually has to be the Info Lit course. TCC has it, so does Penn Foster - but you should get them preapproved before you take them. I'd read that there were issues on this forum in the past.

I think you can use ALEKS Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra as your two maths, but not certain - I would check to see what level of math you need from them.

Project Management from Sophia is ACE-approved and it's $329.

Leadership - if EC accepts courses from CSU-Global (CBE's), they have several exams for $250/course; LowCostGenEd.com also has a course.

You need to ask why the DSST's didn't show up.

There are some DSST's that are UL, they are listed as such right on the website.
