I came across this while looking for online cooking courses for my youngest.

Never heard of Rouxbe and I've been to culinary school. This is quite spendy for online culinary courses. How do you know if you make a mistake? Maybe check out a local community college. lots have culinary programs today.

That's pretty pricy for an unknown quantity - I'm certainly not forking out (ha ha) $1k for a culinary course that I've heard no reviews on.

I'm guessing you can find all kinds of cheap/free culinary courses online, and though they may not be credit-bearing, they allow you to learn a little something and see if you're interested in the profession.

Then, if you REALLY want college credit, Coopersmith has NCCRS credit for $50/cr. There are 7 courses.

There was also Sur La Table, which was cheaper (though still not cheap) at $299 per course: https://www.surlatable.com/online-culinary-institute/ But it looks like Capella/Strayer has given up on it.

Similarly, if you just want to dip your toes in the culinary water, OnlineDegree.com will give you NCCRS credits for their intro course, @ $9.00 total.

Hi, I just found them myself. I think I actually came across them years ago but bookmarked it never to return to it. Anyway, I didn't notice the price for their credit-eligible courses yet. I was coming here to sort of share that you could get ACE credit for them. But if you hadn't noticed, they also have a membership plan (which likely won't result in a badge or credit) however the membership is only 10/month or 80/yr with organized tasks and "grading?" with feedback (so more than you would get than watching 100 Binging with Babish lol)

I have a 16 yr old who is interested in culinary arts but I don't think as a genuine career, but rather a skill to have to make money while training for what would be his career. (Not to put anyone down who chose this path, it's just he's 16 and I don't think this will be where he finally ends up but who knows.)
