I have been prowling around this site for a long time now and would firstly like to thank everyone involved for all the valuable information contained in this forum.
I have been taking various classes at community college and intend to begin testing out (cleps, Teceps etc.,) soon., with the intention of completing a BSBA in finance from TESU. Although I am sure the waters will get murkier once I reach higher level courses, right now I only have questions specific to general ed and transferable credits. I do not intend to take my first TECEP for a number of months and don't want to incur the expense of an evaluation before then.
My questions are:
1. Will a PHED foundations of kinesiology, likely be accepted as credit towards Understanding the Physical and Natural World? I ask because there is a kinesiology TECEP that fulfills this requirement.
2. Would intro to computers (COSC 1301 from a CC) likely fulfill the BSBA finance computer concepts and applications/intro to computers?
Any comments will be much appreciated!

This is the list of current TECEPs. Foundations of Kinesiology is not one of the current offerings.
Thomas Edison State University | All TECEPÂ Tests
However, FIT-211 Kinesiology IS listed as one of the ways to complete the Understanding the Physical and Natural World requirement.
Thomas Edison State University | General Education - 2016 or After
So, it should work if you have taken it or are planning on taking it at your cc. Just don't plan on taking it as a TECEP since that option doesn't exist (yet).
And Intro to Computers should work.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.

+1, you may just want to shoot them an email even though you haven't enrolled. I sent them many emails when I was an applicant.. Strangely, when I'm enrolled, I haven't asked them anything yet... You want to get a straight answer and reference.

Thank you KayV for your response, the links and clarifying that Kinesiology isn't a TECEP. I hadn't planned to take the TECEP, but I did see it listed and was hoping that the PHED foundation of Kinesiology at my local CC (which I have signed up for in fall) would suffice for the "Understanding the Physical and Natural World" requirement. I was just confused because many people have posted that PHED classes can only be used towards electives.
If intro to computers (which I have already taken) wasn't going to work for the core business classes, then I could have used it towards the physical and Natural world requirement. But I would prefer to use it for the business core instead!

You may want to view degreeforum.wikia.com for degree plans and information within the Basic Approach - Online Education Guide. If you have time, you can review the Beginners Guide to cheap college credits thread.

Hi bjcheung77. I did try calling TESU, but they were hesitant to answer any questions without doing the evaluation. I am not sure I am an applicant...I mean I haven't applied there as of yet. Either way, I will try emailing them. Thanks!

Ok, thanks for the link. It appears that the Basic Approach emphasis the importance of an evaluation! With regards to the beginners guide I am not paying for CC (I am receiving grants), but this is very useful info to have for testing out.

The application fee is only $75, and it is good for a year. That will get your credits evaluated and access to advising ahead of taking your TECEP. There's no real downside except for paying the $75 now rather than a few months from now.
