Acacia - DBA 11k - DEAC
#1
I just found that Acacia University offers really affordable programs. Their Doctor of Business Administration is only $11K and the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership is around $10K. Both programs are DEAC accredited. It’s definitely one of the more affordable doctoral choices.

They've been mentioned here a few times but I don't believe they have their own thread. Yes, they're very aggressively priced. They're also an interesting example of global education, in that they're based in the US, but many of their leaders and support personnel are in the UAE.

Yes, the Acacia doctorate options have been in a few posts already... For a similarly price DBA that's RA, you can go for Westcliff DBA after you've completed a Level 8 UK diploma for transfer. It really depends on you, if RA vs NA is important, or if it's solely on the cost, ease, speed to finish, or the course content/learning material, etc.

I don't know that I trust Acacia...
Their office is listed as California, the website lists the school as being in Arizona, and the staff seems to be in the Middle East.... the servers are another matter.

If they were above board, why spread things out?
Of course...
University of the People might actually be located in Israel ... but they manage an RA designation.

Healthy to be skeptical, but if I wasn't already doing a DBA that is 100% free and covered for me, I would absolutely check it out.

And the dean of Acacia's business school lives in New York. So what? When it comes to a school that only offers distance learning, the location of individual contributors doesn't matter.

Besides, if there were something glaringly wrong with them it's not like DEAC wouldn't have noticed.

Do we actually know if a top-up DBA is available directly through Westcliff, or does one need to go through a third party? Because the one 3rd party site I saw offering it doesn't necessarily fill me with confidence. I don't recall it actually stating a price either.

Certainly true. The accreditation is fully legitimate... it just seems odd to me. That's all.

Are you referring to this thread and other threads that point to the same provider?
