Yesterday I got my acceptance email. Now what happens? I start July 3 and I'm wondering when I'll find out about what classes I take. Do I need to talk to my advisor (not assigned) or just register for classes myself? I'm not really sure what happens at this point. My transcripts were sent but not evaluated yet. I've been reading that it takes a long time for them to be evaluated so what happens if they aren't evaluated by the start date? I've also read that it is obviously best to finish any courses I want to transfer before applying, but is there any harm in taking 2 classes from Sophia during this waiting period? Then ask if they can also be transferred in? Thanks for any insight?

Nothing will happen until your transcripts are evaluated which can take a few weeks. Did you set up your MaineStreet account? Check your email in their often because your academic advisor (most likely Jessica) will email you to set everything up. They will email you your degree evaluation once your transcripts are complete. You can't register yourself for courses. Only your academic advisor can add courses for you. You can transfer in courses while enrolled, but you need permission from your academic advisor to transfer them in. You just send them an email saying which courses you want to take from where and thus far they have been pretty accommodating.

Thank you. Yes, I did set up my MaineStreet account. If my transcripts don't get evaluated by 7/3 then I won't actually be starting on 7/3 and I'll need to wait until the next session? Has that happened that you know of? I appreciate your help.

It has happened to some people in the past, yes. It's not common, but it has happened. I would try to keep on top of things as much as possible in order to avoid slipping through the cracks.

Any suggestions on how to stay on top of things? I don't even have an advisor to reach out to.

@PineapplePen, complete the Sophia.org courses and anything else you need from Sophia.org... I highly recommend creating a spreadsheet of the 40 courses/120 credits you need for reference and tracking purposes. You can post it here, make it viewable but not editable, then link us to your one drive or google drive, we can advise what courses to take and which provider/where to take them from...
