As an update, I have kept pushing. I am in between deployments which has afforded some rare down time. This past February I completed 8 exams for 24 units bringing my total to 8 months/90 units. I have one person at the testing center who is always my proctor. He smiles and claps every time I finish. He's never seen anyone attempt so many without failing any. Fortunately I have no testing fees being in the military and I don't have to schedule in advance.
Long story being kept short: I am inspired by the people who contribute to this forum. My outlook on education is changing and my belief that I can successfully complete a graduate program being a sailor, husband, and father of 3 children has brightened tremendously. I know it's a small group of people who have completed a BS/BA in under a year and I wouldn't have considered it without reading that it is doable on these forums. I love to read so this path of self education works for my personality type.
My next goals: inspire someone else to try it and/or become a commissioned officer as a result of my efforts.
