LL= lower level
UL= upper level
At Excelsior you need 90 LL credits and 30 UL. Usually classes that start with "General" or "Intro to" are lower level classes. Something like the CLEP US History I is lower level, the DSST Civil War is upper level.

Basically, once you decide to test out, then you've made the decision to go to one of the Big 3, or a competency-based school like WGU or Hodges; a school that accepts a lot of transfer credits from non-traditional credit. The schools we discuss on this forum for the most part are all regionally accredited (RA) just like a public university in your state.
Once you have a bachelor's degree from an RA school, you can get a master's degree anywhere. With that being said, you may be limited by the lack of a GPA or enough graded credits for some programs; but plenty of people on this forum have gotten into competitive master's programs, so it's not impossible. If you want to go to a less-competitive program (I've looked at the MBA programs at ENMU, WGU, APU), there are plenty of well-regarded RA schools that have a policy where they admit just about anyone, and it's all about doing the work and keeping up your grades.
So, my advice again is to start reading through the forums very regularly, and start figuring things out. Most of the questions you've asked are asked all the time here, so you may find an answer to a question that's barely popped into your head being discussed.
