Advertising TECEP

redriver Wrote:Thank you for the companion sites! I am taking my last three TECEP's this weekend. Strategic Management/Advertising/Business and Society. So far I'm doing Strategic Management today and I'm so nervous. I'm memorizing the lists as we speak. Good luck to you all.

redriver you are my idol! I have been tracking your progress and I am so impressed. I thought I was fast - I've completed 99 credits (as of this weekend) since last July, but you are going at an even faster pace! Could you update your progress on those TECEPS, please?? I am planning to take at least 2 of those, possibly all 3. Good luck!

Thank you for the encouragement! It's good to have support here because no one understands when you try to explain what you are doing in the real world. You are almost at that finish line with 99 credits. It gets harder when you near the end to keep the momentum but keep pushing. You will be done in no time!

I passed the Advertising TECEP by the skinnnn of my teeth. I have to admit I didn't put as much effort into it as the other exams because I thought it would be easy. The wording of the questions was weird to me. I used the test breakdown to study and based my studying off the percentages of questions on the test. I went through the ebook and then took notes on each of the topics. I gave up before media planning and then skimmed the rest of the way through. Big mistake. It should only take a day to get the notes from all of the topics. I didn't have a day. If you took marketing first it helps.

Strategic Management was really difficult because of all the lists. The short answers were easy for me but the essays not so much. Still waiting on the score for that exam.

I haven't taken business and society yet. I plan on taking that tomorrow. I ran out of time this weekend. Plus it appears to be the easiest of the three.

Impressive - I'm sure you did well. I was thinking that I may switch my Marketing AOS requirement test to Sales Management instead of Advertising. I still have to take Business and Society and Strategic Management - will do all three tests in March, then I'm done (hopefully).

I passed the test with 75%. Nothing too unexpected on the exam.
