The last thing that I heard from my uni was that I could cash in my almost complete bachelors for an aggregate degree, which they equated to a bachelors without honours. With something like that, could I use it as a way to then top up some how to a full bachelors with CLEP tests?
I still have to find a way to salvage the remains of my rather expensive education...

I don't know about an "aggregate degree", but you could probably transfer your credits elsewhere. The "Big 3" colleges that are referred to frequently here are great for that, and you may be able to retain/upgrade your GPA.

I was actually asking about an associates, at the uni, in the hopes of just not losing the whole lot. This was what they suggested instead, being at a higher level-but I hadn't heard of it either.

In the US, I've never heard of an aggregate degree. If you're not in the US, and you want a US bachelor degree, then you would need to find out what US institutions would consider an aggregate degree to be equivalent to. I know that some countries offer 3-year bachelor degrees, but that US institutions do not consider that equivalent to US 4-year bachelor degrees.

BS in Business Administration, Charter Oak State College, 2009. 75 semester credits earned by exam, 45 in the classroom. 3.91 GPA.
AS in General Studies, City University of Seattle, 1999. 50 quarter hours earned by exam, 40 in the classroom. 3.95 GPA.

Are you in the US? If so, is your college Regionally accredited? Also, how many credits do you have right now? How many credits is needed for your bachelor's degree at your current school? Are you in BA or BS, and what was your major?

If you are from outside the US, I found this site that will analyze your credentials, but there is a fee.
Also, CLEP's probably won't help you if your current standing is beyond an associate's degree. They might be usable to fill in any general education requirements your new school may have. In all likelihood you will need to look into ECE's, TECEP's, and to a lesser extent DSST/DANTES exams if you want to try to test out the rest of the way.
At this point I'm dying to know where you're from and where you want to go to finish up your degree.

He's from the UK. He just really needs to get his transcript sent from his old school with whatever may be on it to WES, ECE, etc. and have it evaluated. No USA institution is going to accept his "Aggregate" degree, or any other degree "as-is", it has to go through one of the credential evaluators. I'd just have it sent off to ECE (only one accepts by EC check their site for more info on which level you need its the "3rd tier" of eval iir), then havbe that forwarded to EC or wherever, and see where you stand.

Thank you. Yes, I was in a UK uni. I am looking at CLEP because we do not do general ed, at all-our degrees are all our major and nothing else. I didn't do a single credit outside of computer science.
Yes I need to get evaluated. No, I do not know currently how things compare, what is of use to me, or where I am going with this. I don't know how the American uni system works at all, as this has only just become and issue. I found you guys early on in my search! I realise nothing will be accepted sight unseen, but I am trying to figure what is going to be best.
I have no general ed and will seemingly need that to complete any degree in this country. Right now I have a big bunch of nothing.
And he is a she

Hi Timeout,
You know what, I was pretty much in a similar situation in that I didn't have any gen ed credits(just math and engineering), here is what I did, I got my transcripts sent to ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators, hope I got the name right!) and asked them to forward the eval to Excelsior. I am now completing gen eds for my BS liberal studies degree. It is very doable.
BS Liberal Arts, Excelsior College

Thank you. I have spoken briefly with one member by PM and come to the realisation that I may already have enough credits for a bachelors, without honours (as in the most basic pass there is) from my original uni. When I left it was sudden, and I had been pulled out because of depression, by a shrink. So I wasn't listening as well as I could have been
Thanks for the answers here guys, it's been hugely appreciated. I apologise for coming here without all my ducks in a row, but I was trying to figure out where I stood and being here may have helped a great deal.
