Usually, I get people to do the Associates/Bachelors combo, an example would be the TESU or UMPI Associates, as you get it completed when you finish your Bachelors. Most of the time it's a freebie as you don't need to take additional classes unless it's in a very specific subject for the associates degree, say, Biology.
For those going the Excelsior route, their Associates Capstone, for residency purposes, the BSLA may require 15 credits now, thus, allowing you to chose the Associates Capstone as one of the classes in addition to the Cornerstone and Bachelors Capstone. For TESU Associates with a capstone, I would do the same thing.
