Aleks Math & Statistics on Excelsior Transcript
#1
I just received my updated transcript from Excelsior. I had taken inter algebra, college algebra, pre-calculus, intro to stats, bus stats and behavioral stats. Excelsior gave me credit for the math classes and the behavioral stats. I am enrolled on the BSBA Global business program and you would think these other two stats would have been considered for additional business electives courses. They are all listed on my transcript as natural sciences/math. Was anyone able to get all the stats transferred? Please let me know how you approached them and whether or not you had to file for an appeal. I am really interested since it four months to complete all of these courses (including hookie time). Thanks.
Aimée

I think you got the most out of your ALEKS credits that is possible (9 credits below Calculus and 3 credits in Statistics). As far as I know, EC only gives credit for one ALEKS Stats course. Otherwise, they duplicate each other. Also, they are considered LL for business degrees and UL for liberal arts degrees. Here are some older threads for more details:

As NAP stated, the most you could have expected from the courses is 9 credits (3x 3credit courses) at precalculus level and 3 credits statistics, totalling 12 credits.

This is how the courses were treated for my programme of study and I believe this is EC's standard policy regarding ALEKS.

NAP is correct, I used those on mine as well. Depending on the degree, you might be able to get more for some of their other math courses. I did an IT degree, which only allows 9cr below calc (plus 3 for stats), other degree programs might be different.
