Yes, the MOOC options from Coursera and Edx are good choices, there are a few options in the graduate section as well, where I mentioned specific states.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to apologize for taking so long to reply. Thank you again, I appreciate it, this forum was incredibly helpful to me. I was in my own school journey and got so focused on that, to be honest, I forgot about my post.
As a small update, they decided to wait on the career change until they're 100% on exactly what they want to do. I think it's a good plan to focus on some deep research since "the grass isn't always greener on the other side".

Just for anyone considering the CU Boulder MSEE (changing to MS-ECE - Electrical and Computer Engineering shortly): Picking this up without a related undergrad will be very difficult. I have some experience at technician level plus the TESU CS degree and the courses aren't easy. Before starting, you can review Khan academy for circuit analysis basics. You need your math to be on point (calc, algebra, etc). Of the programs CU is offering VIA MOOC, this is by far the most rigorous and demanding from my exposure thus far. There is a LOT of assumed knowledge including C programming, computer architecture, circuit logic, RTOS, embedded linux, troubleshooting, memory management and more. If you don't have the foundation, you will find yourself (as I have) frequently having to pause, go review foundational material (sometimes takes over a week just to get the basics on a topic) then resume studies. It is doable but requires a lot of effort - maybe in the neighborhood of 10x what it takes to get a TESU CS degree.

That is really cool you are doing an EE program after a TESU CS. EE is beast, so props to taking it on. It will be worth it. What are the backgrounds of other people in the program?
