Any financial aid available for TESC?
#1
Hey I was wondering if im eligible for finacial aid. I have just taken many clep and dsst's, no brick and mortor credits. I'm white, 21, and come from a family with a small income(money does'nt bring you happiness anyway) Just wondering what is available(if any) and who the money comes from(government, donations etc) Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm not a TESC student, but they're a title IV school which means you should be able to get Student Loans & Grants such as the Stafford (Both Subsidized and Unsubsidized) Loan.

As of July 1st, the Federal Government took over giving out Stafford loans as part of the healthcare bill (go figure). There are also private loans available as well.

You'll have to fill out a FAFSA to be able to take part in the loan system, and that's how they determine how much is available.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Make sure you go to:

FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid

I don't know if it is still around, but a little while ago there was a website (I know it was fafsa, but it was either .com or .org). It basically led people to believe that it was the government site - asked for your social sec number, other personal info, then also asked for your credit card number.

I was warned about it at the local community college I attended. Just make sure you go to the site that has .ed.gov at the end of the URL, and you'll be fine.

Basically, they use a combination of your income, your parents' income (since you aren't above the age they classify as being Independent), and the cost of your schooling. If you qualify, you can get financial aid at any of the big three schools (TESC, COSC and Excelsior), as well as many other colleges and universities. Just be careful about the loans (grant money you do not have to pay back) - it can add up more quickly than you think!
