#1
Hey I am taking this test as well as the DSST intro to omputers on Monday and I was wondering if anyone could give me some updated info on the exam.

Is the exam more current?

Is IC all I need to be successful?

Any general advise is appreciated...

I took the DSST exam last month and it was pretty easy. Granted I do work in IT but I went over the specific exam thread and it was pretty much dead on. I only skimmed the IC cards because most of it was familiar but if you know the IC and stuff on the specific thread you should pass easily.

I didn't know EC took both the CLEP and DSST without considering them overlaping at the time so I'm taking the CLEP either Monday or Wednesday. If I take it before you do I'll let you know what I find. I can tell you right now that the exam is not more current though.

Oh and read the MIS thread and material. It is the most helpful and while it covers some stuff you might not need it will make sure you know enough to be comfortable.

I've taken Information Systems and Computer Applications about 2 months ago. I've read mixed reports. Some say that the test was a breeze but then others like myself found it to be challenging and I have 5 IT certifications. I would suggest being prepared and going over the Peterson's practise exams. They're much more challenging than IC and you'll have to look up a lot of stuff but either way you should be prepared.

Good luck!
Passed: Information Systems and Computer Applications, Business Law, Principles of Management and Principles of Marketing.
