Are all math courses welcome??
#1
I'm just wondering if COSC will take College Algebra and Pre-Calculus if i try to transfer both.

I am asking because Aleks (which is no longer accepted by COSC) clarify that College Alegebra & Pre-Calculus is considered dupicated courses if both are passed.

I finish Pre-Calculus at ASU recently and also College Algebra, i didn't pay for College Algebra credits yet, i also can transfer from my local university Calculus 1 and also another algebra courses, i think with ASU and my local math courses i can reach the 30 credits request, but now i am worry about some of these courses can be considered or couned as double courses.

Non of them are actually the same course, but some of them pretty similar.

I don't know about COSC specifically, but I've seen that TESU, at least, does not overlap algebra, trigonometry from ALEKS, and pre-calculus from ASU. Looking at Charter Oak, they don't appear to have anything past algebra available.

College Algebra and PreCalc are very different math classes. I've taken both at the same college and received credit for both. Both have transferred to several other colleges as well. Math is a liberal arts so I would pay for the transfer credit at the minimum.

That's good news

I was seeing that Aleks considers many of those courses as doubles and so I was a little concerned.

What ALEKS does and what schools will do is different.

COSC does not consider College Algebra and Precalc to be the same course, and you'll get credit for both.

I already have Calculus 1 from my local university, but i am also working in ASU Brieft Calculus; maybe those courses could be considered duplicated??

Those will almost certainly duplicate, yes. You'd need calculus II for it not to duplicate.
