Are there any competency-based Education master's?
#1
I like the competency format, because it can be more affordable (provided you complete it quickly).

Are there any master's degrees in Education (e.g. MEd, MAT) that can be completed via a competency-based model, outside of WGU?

I'm sure WGU probably has a good program, but in my workplace, management regards it as similar to UoPhoenix. Maybe that has to do with them running so many television ads, it makes the program lose respectability.

Why don't you ask management what they consider acceptable?

Pelican, did you ever settle on a third bachelor's degree? I remember that you've considered undergraduate degrees in social science, fine arts, history, natural science, English, and education. Lately, you've been considering master's degrees in history, digital arts, and education. What is your goal? Are you still teaching?

Competency based education masters programs are a dime a dozen. You have better luck rolling with a program that is 7/8 weeks per class… if you want competency based then there will be limited choices as this is something more on the new side.

I’ve read somewhere on this forum that there’s a major shortage of teachers so I would think a masters from any ra school would be sufficient providing you have your teaching certification. That is if teaching is what your objective is.
