Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Emergency Management Degree, Fall 2015, my AAR
#11
Life Long Learning Wrote:I bet they will. You still have the certificates? How about the manual or course outline? Its all great proof.

I have a five inch binder with all my certificates in it. I need to order a larger one. I *should* have most of the manuals, but I wouldn't have course outlines or syllabi - betting Nashville has that stuff, but I don't know how willing they would be to help.

I'll give Ms. Stapleton more time, after all, this is Easter week. I wasn't really thinking about an AS after coming here, but swinging for the fences with a Bachelors; however, if I can get an AS as directly as CCC seems to be, I'd stroke a check for that, no question.

Thanks for your input!

If I can recommend something? You asked the wrong advisor. Ms. Stapleton can't help you. Kelly Jo below is the approval for EM substitutions and exact EM courses in the EM program. I always got an email OK from her (about 10) and it worked slick. Yvonne and Lizz take all her OK's. They do not care that the courses are not from Oregon. They took a few of my Army ones also. Your Tennessee TEMA courses and Hazat courses should work great!

If you enroll and need advise just ask.

Dawned on me I should respond to this. Before I was able to fire off a missive to your contact, I got this:

[indent]Hi Shawn,
Clackamas Community College has educational partnerships formed with Oregon, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia and the United States Coast Guard to enable persons in those states and/or agencies to acquire an Emergency Management AAS degree through Clackamas Community College. We do not have a partnership with Tennessee. You can use your FEMA training towards our degree, but not the state trainings.

So, I'm done there.

But, thanks for the help and insight! Maybe in a few years, they will open up. I'd like to push our state EMA into looking at this; it's an excellent deal for a person needing a degree.
