Associates is done, now focused on the BS
#1
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the great advice and support. I just completed my Associate of Arts at a local B&M community college. My next step is to complete a BS in Lib Studies through Excelsior. I have 64 credits currently and plan to test out of the rest. Do you think it is do-able by the end of the year?

Well, you have 70 credits, which leaves 50 more -- about 16 tests worth. You have 9 months before the end of the calender year, 5 months before the next school year. That means either a little under 2 tests a month, or a little over 3 tests a month.

Either way, if you apply yourself, I'm sure you can do it! (Two tests a month certainly seems doable.)

By the way, I love your signature. Wink

Absolutely. I want to emphasize a little tip to save you some time and money. Excelsior gives massive credits for the GRE Subject Tests--up to 30 semester hours per exam, depending upon the score. If you chose to take two GRE Subject Tests, then you could test out of most of your requirements in just two exams. Granted, studying for the GRE Subject Tests is a rather massive project, and expecting to score at the 80th percentile needed for the full 30 credits is probably not a realistic goal for most people. That being said, expecting to score high enough to accumulate many credits is certainly an attainable goal.

Good luck.
