Is it still possible to complete a degree through Athabasca entirely without ever having to take a course at the school? I know it's something that we don't discuss often in here, but I probably have enough UL credits to transfer in from a range of schools I never finished.

If memory serves me right, they offer a bachelors degree program that is 90 credits total, with 60 LL and 30 UL.

Doesn't look like you can, since you have bachelor's degrees already: "Enrolment requirements: Students who hold a previous degree must enrol in a Bachelor of Arts (4-year) program and follow the second undergraduate degree requirements. All the 120-credit degrees I skimmed require 30 credits to be taken at Athabasca U.

Well, it looks like I'm out of the running for this one. I did see some people discuss about transferring ENEB degrees to Athabasca. Do we know if they come over as UL credits? And if so, how many?

One thing that could be done is after 90 credits at an American university, you could apply for a Bachelor of General Studies at Athabasca University.  You would have to note the specific requirements for Arts and Sciences or Applied Studies designation.  Also note that 45 credits must be 300 or 400 level courses.  I would guess it would cost you an application fee to find how you would do.  I am not sure of any ramifications at your current school.  Also - DEAC - forget it.  ACE etc. - forget it.

They always had the BGS as a second degree but I don't see it anymore.  It required 45 credits at 300 or 400 level.

Are you saying that they wouldn't accept ACE and DEAC credits at Athabasca? Only reason why I am curious about the school is because it has been tossed around here in the forum time to time and I picked up an old copy of John Bear's book discussing Athabasca during the 1980's.

Usually, you need to get a letter of permission from your Canadian university to be able to transfer credits from another Canadian university. Outgoing Letter of Permission. I took a third-year COMP course at Athabasca to complete my degree at my brick-and-mortar Canadian university. The exam was proctored using ProctorU, and it was pretty difficult. It was not a common thing to transfer credits from US universities to Canadian universities. I don't know if it is possible. I have only seen students transferring credits from other Canadian universities.

It’s not uncommon to transfer US university credits to a Canadian university. My mom transferred about two years of study at the University at Buffalo to complete her bachelor’s many years later at York University in Toronto.

I'm pretty sure I've read that alternate credits of any kind are not accepted.  A few years ago they had a search page that showed transfers accepted.  I put in a DEAC school and it went tilt.  Athabasca was notable in that it was a very early provincial or state university offering a wide variety of distance courses and the BGS degree with no residency  That was remarkable for the 1970s.
