What's the benefit of doing a BA LS-CompSci vs a normal BA CompSci
I guess I'm answering my own question here, looks like with the LS-CS you could skip the math and have more flexibility with the UL courses coming from outside of the CS field. A very watered down CS, essentially.

If you need a Computer Science degree, then it's not worth it. If you don't, but just want to take some of the classes, then it may be worth it to get a liberal studies degree.

For the BALS-CS, you'd still have to do Computer Architecture and Data Structures. You'd be saving yourself very little pain in order to get something that would most likely be viewed by those in the industry as a "lesser" degree.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA Completed: Pierpont - AAS BOG Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses) ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

What is your friend wanting to do with the degree? Depending on the answer, I would go about this differently. Here's my suggestion if they're into TESU...
1) BSBA CIS, within the AOS it already has some Computer related courses, this can prepare for future educational options... 2) BSBA allows 15 free elective courses of your choice, take the same courses that comprises of or used for the BALS CS... 3) Instead of a BALS CS, you can add the ASNSM Comp Sci and the Comp Science & CIS certificates to your BSBA CIS... 4) The courses taken for the BSBA CIS gets your foot into the realms related to Business and CIS verticals or future study 5) Ladder that up to Masters in Applied Computer Sciences or MSIT degrees at the local or online public/state university Your friend can decide to ladder up to Purdue Global or WGU Masters degrees if your friend doesn't like the following examples. 1) Arkansas options here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...ee-Options 2) Missouri, West Virginia: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...t-Virginia The link above shows South East Missouri, SEMO has a MS Applied Computer Science: https://semo.edu/academics/programs/onli...nline.html 3) Emporia State MSIT: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...ual-Degree Just in case you missed the thread link: https://online.emporia.edu/programs/msit.aspx

Thanks for the suggestion. He has 22 years of experience in Software development and is currently living in the USA. He did a diploma in Electronics engineering. He wants to have some degree.

Oh, so it must be the same person you were asking for in the previous thread, UMPI Language & Lab: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Lab-and-Spanish?
That's the thing, he has to decide which one would be better or in a sense "easier" for him. If he knows a language other than English, he can do the ACTFL. If he's been away from natural science for a while, Biology & Lab at Study.com for a month will work. I think I would also be 50/50 on UMPI or TESU... either would work for him actually as he has the experience and most likely some certifications, he just needs the missing piece, the degree...
