How are credits transfered from the Big 3
#1
Here's one...

if I wanted to transfer credits from one of the Big 3 to an RA college how would they look on a transcript? The reason I ask is because the BS Ed I am interested in will only give 3 credits for the General CLEPS, and, correct me if I'm wrong, the Big 3 will give the ACE recommended 6 credits. If I were to take the CLEPS, have them transcribed through one of the Big 3 and then transfered to the RA college would they come through as showing just the generic credits earned or would they still show as credits through CLEP?

Unless it's a completed degree, (and sometimes, even if it's a completed degree) the school you're xfering to will look and say 'Oh, CLEP tests... We give 3 for this one, 3 for that one, we don't take that one...' and so on, and you'll have the amount of credits that you would have been awarded by the school you transfered to, anyway.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Your question is essentially, can you launder credits? The short answer is no. When you are a student, the school that will issue your degree has the final say on how your credits are applied. This has nothing to do with/or exclusive to, the the big 3. This is also the case with, for example, a community college in your area transferring into the BS program you are looking at. A typical community college also will award 6 credits for a general CLEP, however, if those credits are transferred the new school can say thumbs up or down. Each school sets its own hoops- how many tests, score requirements, limits, credit issued, courses that are used in place of the test, etc.

CLEP credits will NOT BE TESC credits simply because you are a TESC student, they will remain The College Board credits as long as you both shall live (well, technically for 20 years lol) so when you apply at the BS college (from anyschool in the country), they will want only an official transcript before awarding credit for your CLEP- meaning you'll still need to order an official CLEP transcript from The College Board.

Only credits earned at TESC are TESC credits. CLEP, DSST, FEMA, etc are not TESC credits and must be reevaluated by each new school you apply to.
The degree granter has the final say.

It's so important to understand that whenever you transfer, or if you are planning to transfer, you NEVER use the policy of the college you are attending- only use the policy of the college you are going to GRADUATE from. Hope that helps a bit.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure... thanks for the affirmation!
