Good morning all,
Would love your insight. I have a Bachelors of Arts degree (general studies) and a Masters of Arts degree in teaching. I have been teaching my entire life but think I should pursue the BS in Accounting Degree.
My question: which provider, Sophia, SDC, or StraighterLine should I use to get the maximum amount of classes completed that would go towards a future BS in Accounting degree? On a side note, I haven’t taken any business or accounting courses in either my undergrad or graduate degree.
And lastly, is there a certain school that is least expensive to complete the remaining credits for the degree? I was thinking Liberty but of course they don’t have a BS in Accounting degree.
Thanks all.

UMPI BA Accounting is a true accounting degree or WGU BS Accounting, the TESU BSBA Accounting is just a business admin concentration with Accounting AOS/minor. For any degree we recommend, you should transfer the max credits that it allows, and complete the residency requirements from the institution you intend to finish. For example, UMPI BA Accounting or TESU BSBA Accounting, your previous credits should take up all the requirements for general education and electives, you just need the major.

Thank you for this. I may be missing some General Ed requirements though since I never completed any Econ or accounting 101 classes in my undergrad.
Do you have any info you can share on the UMPI BA accounting degree? Cost? How many credits do they accept from sdc/sophia?
Thanks again.

Although I have the credit requirement, I don’t think at my age I would be able to pursue the CPA. Going back for the accounting bachelors is going to be tough enough while teaching full time and working another job at night.

I was asking because the licensing depending on which state you reside in can have some strict requirements around RA credits.

I live in NJ and my 150 credits that I would need for the CPA route would all be RA
